I’m sure Boris’d like his vision for transport in London to be something like “Reinstate the motorway box and Ringways – it’ll make commuting to the country pad faster, what?” – but for now “screw the povvo bus users” seems to be the best he can do.

I complete agree. I’m going to benefit from the changes and I don’t think I should. The above post has it right; Ken had a vision and he could explain that vision. You might not have liked it but at least you knew what it was. I have **NO IDEA** what Boris’ vision is for transport in London.

Don’t get me wrong – I think public transport around the country should come down to London prices, not the other way around.

Say what you like about Ken, there was a vision for transport in London. Under Ken’s watch, Crossrail finally happened. Boris seems to have done not a jot preparing the way for Crossrail 2.

Just last week, Cameron said “don’t you dare lecture us about poverty. [Labour] have failed and it falls to us, the modern Conservative party to fight for the poorest who [Labour] have let down.”

Words mean nothing when the reality tells the opposite story.

Oh, I agree about the Travelcard being good value. In fact, given the quality gap between London and the rest of the country in terms of public transport, I think London has good value public transport generally (for now!). I’d just like that good value to be shared round a little more fairly…
